Coochas, you could paint the roll bar extension, to make it look newer and match the color with the original arched bars. It could even give the impression of a single structure

The seats... well, nothing to say, simple perfect

Thanks.
I've got new hardware coming for the roll bar extension to get rid of some of the rustiness that's on the bolts. I'll consider painting it at some point.

PSS9, Sways, Drop Links Installed

Sorry no pics!

I went to Autobahn Performance in Peabody, MA to have my Bilstein PSS9 and Tarett Front/Rear Sways + Drop Links installed. While the car was in the shop, I decided to pull the old rubber off and replace it with fresh Mich PS2 225/45/17 F and 255/40/17 R.

When the suspension was done, I had them do an aggressive alignment and corner balance the car. I'll need to go to the GT3 front control arms to get any more neg camber there but for now this will suffice.
Front camber -1.4 (was -0.5 L and -1.0 R)
Rear Camber -2.5 (was -2.5)
Front Caster 7.8 (unchanged)
Front Toe -0.06 (was -0.52)
Rear Toe L 0.05, R 0.07 (was L 0.15, R 0.37)

Corner balance data:
Tare weight 2871 lbs
With 210 overweight middle aged man 3081
Original Cross Weights: 54% RF->LR, 46% LF->RR
Finished balance: 50:50

It's been in the 20s-30s here so it is obviously not a time to be testing out the worthiness of the new suspension. I can say that the car looks about an inch lower with the PSS9 set at 5 (i.e. the middle setting between comfort and stiff). I also had the sways set a little soft in the rear and a little hard in front (my God that sounds really funny). The ride home with the car makes me believe the ride is a bit stiffer than stock but not bone jarring at these settings. Just doing little tire-warming type swerves (keeping in mind the PS2s are hockey pucks at these temps), the car feels much tighter and responsive with much less roll than stock. I can't wait for the great thaw as I think this suspension is going to be a blast.

Just out of curiosity (Hmmmmm), I had them do a cylinder leak down test which showed negligible leak (like 2%). There's a slim possibility that I'll mod the motor as time goes by and some people recommend a leak test before doing any forced induction. Hmmmmmmm.

BTW, Autobahn seems like a fantastic shop with nice folks if anyone is looking for some performance help or service in the Boston area.

I'll post some pics the next time I work on the car during daylight and when it is not snowing!

Thanks Igor.
One of these days (when it thaws) we should organize a Boston area Team meet.

I finally got around to installing my Momo steering wheel today. It feels sooooo nice. I hadn't imagined that such a small 'mod' could translate into such an improved road 'feel.'

I did hit one snag on the install and ended up tearing a wire which would ordinarily go to the horn/air bag harness. I am not sure how I can use this steering wheel with the horn button (can't figure out how to route power without the stock airbag set up). I am going to bring it to my local P-shop (Autobahn) for help.

Anyhow,....it was fun playing in my new garage!!!!!!!!

Dave,

Nice collections, and the Boxster looks like fun!

Too bad it will feel too slow next to your TT.
