Insman,
Good morning, I am a Aviation Consultant and ATP rated Pilot. I help people with aircraft acquisitions. If you would like to talk feel free to email me and I will call you back asap.
As far as the T182 2007-2008(great plane by the way) I think that you would be looking in the 300-340 thousand neighborhood. I am sure that you would agree that this is a huge investment in your time and money and I am able to do all the searching for you and present you with a few top notch choices that way you don't end up flying all over the country to look at many different airplanes.
I am also interested in why you chose a T182 after all what is your mission typical loads and all that.
I look forward to chatting back and forth and you can use me as a sounding board to bounce any thoughts off of. have a great day and happy flying!!

Insman -- As Matt mentioned, you need to figure out what your "mission" is and that will help you determine which aircraft is for you. Using a broker / buyer's agent / consultant is probably a good way to go if you do not know much about the particular aircraft you are trying to buy.
I own my own aircraft, but I am the type of person that did ALL of my own research with the help of other pilots with experience in type, A&Ps with experience working on the airframe and engine, etc.
For a quick look at value, you can use the Vref tool available at AOPA. You will need to know total times/time since overhaul for airframe, engine, prop, etc.
Good luck with your flying endeavors and your quest for ownership. It is a very rewarding one for sure!
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Hey man thanks for your insight as well. What are you flying??? Flying is my whole world though with our current economy it has been extremely hard lately. I own a Baron with two other partners and I love my plane. I fly mostly up and down the east coast for customers here in the SC area.

I own a Piper Arrow II. My flying is recreational only, but what I love the most about it is there is always something new to learn. I am currently prepping for my IFR checkride, and will knock out Commercial soon after that.
I've been looking at twins lately as my mission is changing. I'd like to be able to take 5 or 6 people plus decent baggage on trips, especially when visiting family. I'm also looking for something in the 180-190 kt range, so I've mainly been looking at Cessna 310s.
It helps that you are looking at a new(er) plane, but do your homework and make sure you are aware of all Airworthiness Directives applicable to what you intend to purchase. You don't want to be surprised within the first couple years of ownership with a costly repair you could have anticipated.
I like this stuff so much I'm even in the process of opening a flight school here at our airport. Should be fun!

Respectfully, I have everything pretty much all figured out as respects the plane, the mission, my needs and why. I work very closely with a local FBO as my primary training facility and such and they are also a very well run and respected Cessna certified service and training facility. I truly appreciate your input and support, just really need the blue book prices on the aforementioned used aircraft at present. Thank you in advance...
