I allways check the type of plane. Fly to the US allmost every month and have had a few shocks such as with Delta and US air and had to cross the atlantic on smaller planes than they used for internal flights. Also not all of their international flights have seat back entertainment which can be a right pain on a 9 hour flight. Much prefer BA or Virgin but they know they are better and charge accordingly. Oh yes these comments are for turning left at the door as I have to pay for these trips myself.

I do check the plane so that I can check the layout and pick (if I can) the economy seats behind a wall or next to the emergency exit. Legroom FTW.

 

The only time I check is if I'm flying it myself. My wife and I go from the midwest to NYC quite a bit, and especially with the little one, our priority is non-stop, which is challenging, and a departure time preferably after 10:00 AM. Costing less than $300 each doesn't hurt either.
