Such a badass aircraft. Makes you wonder how the "official" record holder of all those altitude and speed records is still a product of late 1960s slide rule engineering efforts.

I lived at Edwards when I was little and remember very distinctly when i was 3 or 4 a SR71 coming in, landing on the runway parallel to us in our car and a huge red chute coming out the back! i don't remember many things as vividly as that!
