Got my Gallardo today
#52
A few more quick pictures. I could get use to seeing it in my garage everyday. Sadly, I did have to say my goodbyes last night, so I had a beer with it and my cat decided to join me.
Will post the rest of the pictures and review later.

Awesome Jon! You're still young and believe me when I say that anything is possible if you put your mind to it. I remember being a cocky Dueche and scoffing at a few guys in the marines when I was 21 and making decent money, but that changed when I joined the navy. I realized what I was missing and now I have a freaking turbo sitting in the garage. I never in a million years thought that would happen but luck so finds it that It did. You'll make it there one day!

Thanks for all the rep guys! Thanks for the kind works Brad, can't wait to experience the Turbo. Works slow so I'll write my review now and post pictures later.
When the Gallardo first came out I was in high school and I didn't think it would be a success because of the smaller engine and Audi interior etc etc. Then I saw one in person and my mind totally changed. I was a huge fan of Lamborghini as a kid growing up. What got me into cars was the Diablo. Fast forward to today I wanted to treat myself, so whats better then an exotic. I searched forever looking for a GT2 to rent but couldn't find any and I wasn't surprised but I needed to try. The company I rented the Lambo from once had a GT3 to rent so I asked them about it but I guess while they had it to rent for 9 months, 4 of them got totaled so they weren't going to replace it.
So no Porsche GTs around to rent, and I've driven a few Ferraris (348, 355, 430 spyder) and I've always wanted to drive a Lamborghini so that's why I picked the Gallardo spyder. (also the top gear episode with it defiantly helped)
Likes- The looks of it. Top down with 500+ horsepower behind you. The noise, oh my god the noise. It is pretty easy to drive to, I didn't scrap the front at all like I thought I would. It rode pretty well too, wasn't as rough as I thought it was going to be. Finally the handling. I took it on the highway and the on off ramps were a blast. The saying "handles on rails" is an understatement. It stayed glued to the road.
Dislikes- first the attention. At first it was fun then got super annoying very quickly. I took my sister to get ice cream the car was parked for 3 mins and there was a huge crowd of people by it. Asking me questions and rides and to do burns outs. I live in a pretty nice area, there are a few exotics around so it's not like I was driving a Veyron. But I'm a car nut to and I turn into a kid when I see something like this too. So I let the kids sit in it, take pics, answers questions. I dont know how you guys with F40s, Murcis, and other exotics do it. The cops around town weren't fans either, I got followed a number of times. Then attention aside the other dislikes were the seats. After a while my back was killing me. Another was the transmission. It was clunky and not smooth at all. I'm glad I got to experience an e-gear but Ferraris F1 was WAY ahead of this. (haven't drive pdk so can't comment on that). And the worst, 65 mph feel like 25 mph. It's takes everything in my body to keep it in the limit so I don't end up in jail even though it begs to be pushed.
Overal- This was an amazing experience that I will never forget. I'm glad I got to share it with my friends and especially my family. I got asked if I had the money would I buy one, I answered no. It was so worth it to rent. But I NEED a manual. Even though I have yet to drive or even been for a ride in a Porsche GT2, its still number 1 on my list.

Great review Jon. That sounds like a terrific way to truly get a feel for what life would be like with that car.
This has me even more stoked because I'll be driving a Gallardo next week (Gotham Dream Car Sprint). It's cool to see your feelings about the car, good and bad. While I won't be driving it for nearly as long as you did, I'm looking forward to taking it all in as well.

^^ enjoy it man! It's a blast you will know what I'm saying about the sound when you get on it. I still have a smile on my face from it.
Even though LABrit isn't a fan of me, I'm interested to hear himself views on my review. Even though he drives an LP and mine was a regular G I'm sure there isn't much difference.
