Got my Gallardo today
Well, I finally decided to treat myself to an exotic. Sadly there was no GT2s around to rent so I went with my second choice. I've driven Ferraris and Porsches, but never had the chance to drive a Lamborghini.
During my lunch break I went home and took delivery of this. Smiled from when the truck opened the door and the smile is still on my face. After the car was unloaded and everything was signed and done the guy gave me the key and off he went. So there I was, just me, a Lamborghini, and road. I got in adjusted the seat, put my seat belt on, put it in sport more, clicked it into first gear, and off I went.
I didn't even bother with the radio, I just wanted to hear the V10 behind me. I was real easy at first just cruising around town, then I came across some nice back roads on the way back to work. Opened it up and the smile on my face got bigger if thats possible. The noise, the shifting, the air rushing over head. It was just as I pictured it and more. I pulled into work and everyone came out to look and talk about it. Once work was over I took out a few of my buddys and bosses and the smile on their face and the giggles they let out made everything so worth it.
After that I cruised back home. Its funny to see all the people beeping, waving, taking pictures, giving thumbs up. I get home and I have 4-5 close friends at my house waiting to see it. Took my friends out which was a few hours ago and they are still texting me telling me they are still smiling. Then it was time to take out my family in it. Took out my sister first and her reaction was priceless. She wanted me to keep driving. I returned home to take my father out in it. He is a guy that could care less about cars, doesn't get excited for anything. He got in and I watched my Dad turn into a kid in high school all over again. Taking it out and getting it up to speed he just laughed. He said he has never experienced anything like that.
Then came to my mom. She was very ify about it at first but then she said why not. We started off slow just cruising around, she was blasting music just loving being out in a convertable. I wasn't happy til she experienced what this thing could really do. I got on the highway and opened it up and she flipped out like that mom did with that kid with the twin turbo Gallardo and a smile ear to ear. Put 87 miles on it so far and I can't wait to put on more (I'm limited to 200 til Thursday).
Thoughts- Nice interior, easy to drive, easy to see everything. The power is like a drug, the sound, the shifting everything. I just want more, its tough to keep it within the limit. The shifting is pretty rough, even at slow speeds. The car has 22,000+ miles on it so I'm sure its beaten pretty hard. The brakes work well but difficult to make a smooth stop from high speeds. The ride is smooth, you could drive it everyday if you wanted. Another thing is the seats are comfy but my back is killing me now. Will post more as I put more miles on it.

It was pretty annoying at first giving so many people rides, but honestly the smile on their faces is priceless and well worth it!

That's awesome, congrats!! This scenario is exactly how my delivery would be. I would be giving everyone rides as well, all my close friends and near by family. It's priceless to get everyone's reaction and to give them a chance to ride in a car that's rare and to share your experience. Enjoy the car!!
