Lamborghini "Cabrera LP600-4" Speculation Thread
#31
Great thread.
I don't remember where I heard this but someone on this forum recently mentioned that Lambo will finally put a DCT in this car. Considering the rather negative comments the Aventador transmission has gotten from testers, a lambo-DCT is well over due. Here is a render of the Cabrera which is obviously a complete guess since no spy shots are out there yet.
BTW what are the problems with the Aventador? The paint or something else?

As for now I have no info regarding DTC (but I will sonn learn more) I only know that Lamborghini S.p.A are very enthusiastic about the gearbox in the Aventador.

Do you know anything regarding the use of CF in the Cabrera? Will they go for a tub like the MP4 or a whole monocoque á la Aventador?

After various requests I'm here to post what I know at the moment. Basically, in this case again I can only confirm what my friend posted in the OP because I just have few buds in the industry and MB gets everything from the first hands, my respect to him, he is very valuable addition to our TS family. But let me add quite a few things.
First of all, the first mules are expected to show up in summer, the development work is going in full tempo, but there is a delay with Aventador. Carbera is not an official name by any means now, and similar as with Aventador the name will be known only few months before the premiere.
Specs are following - around 600 hp, DCT (finally), body style to be borrowed heavily from Estoque and Aventador, same for interior.
Don't expect it to be that lighter than LP570-4 SL, because of huge disappointment at the end, same as with Aventador, but of course it will be lighter than LP560-4. Extensive usage of new CF is expected. As always that is what is leaking now, with the time there will be more detailed information of course.

Chime in when ever you feel up to it. Stay in touch.
As to DTC, it is only 90% sure. BUT as Ludas said, the gearbox on the Aventador has had mixed rewiews.....
I am quite sure the car will end up at around the same weight as the LP570 if not a little lighter.

No disrespect sir, but you weren't by any means the first to see the car, for example Quickie and AndrewDinCH both posted write ups of the Sant Agata presentation before you did:

There was a lot of info about the Aventador in that thread before you started posting.
But thanks for your excellent contributions anyway.
