Lamborghini Aventador Sold Out
Published Mar 9, 2011

Just the Facts:
Lamborghini said the first 12 months' production of its new Aventador LP700-4 supercar is sold out.
The Aventador goes into production in the second half of 2011.
China is now Lamborghini's second-largest global market, behind the U.S.
SANT'AGATA BOLOGNESE, Italy — Lamborghini said its new Aventador LP700-4, just released at the 2011 Geneva Auto Show, is sold out for the first year.
In a statement announcing its year-end financial results, the Italian supercar arm of the Volkswagen Group noted that it has "already sold more than 12 months' production of (the) new V12 model, deliveries of which will start in the second half of 2011."
Lamborghini also said it lost money again in 2010, with revenues dropping slightly from $391 million in 2009 to $377 million. Global vehicle sales also dropped, from 1,515 units in 2009 to 1,302 last year, with China rising to become Lamborghini's second-largest global market behind the U.S.
The company said it expects vehicle sales and revenue to increase this year, with the introduction of the Aventador. Lamborghini said the sales decline in 2010 was due in part to the phase-out last May of the Murcielago, which is being replaced by the Aventador.
CEO Stephan Winkelmann said: "We see a slow but steady recovery of the market, and we will benefit from this. The extraordinary response to the new Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 is the best proof that our vision is right."
Lamborghini also is running out production of the Gallardo, with deliveries of the final variant — the Gallardo LP 570-4 Spyder Performante — to begin this spring.
Inside Line says: Over 10 years, the company built and sold more than 4,000 Murcielagos, making it the best-selling Lambo in history. Not bad for a car whose name no one could pronounce. — Paul Lienert, Correspondent

You guys don't believe it on this car yet someone makes a post about how hard it is to get a Cayenne- a vehicle that is mass produced in comparison.
Get over it. The US economy isn't the sinking ship that you all are buying into. And there are PLENTY of people with money and checks to write.

Overheard in Sant'Agata: Let's start taking pre-orders, then we decide to make exactly that many within a timeframe we've dictated ourselves, and claim they are sold out.
This is textbook pr 101. Quite brilliant too I might add.
