06 Gallardo vs 08 R8 - for $110k - I need advice (long)

You disappoint me old man!

Buy it for yourself, not for what others will think.

it's not clear if you will DD this thing or not.
otoh, i would say you should buy what you want, and definitely don't compromise for others.
otoh, if you don't want attention, you will get frustrated with both cars very quickly. there's nothing more annoying than everyone wanting to race you at every stop light, driving like maniacs around you (and endangering you & others), and following your rear 1/4 panel on the highway for miles at a time. i just have a loud turbo and it's very hard to drive it in peace here in the Bay Area; can't imagine a Gallardo, or R8, in ATL.

I'm 29 and live in ATL. Get the G; you'll be fine.
If it weren't for the shift in the economy, I had planned to own something similar by now. As it stands, I'm going back to school instead (or in light of, lol...).
Good luck on the sale of the 911 and in search of the G. I would consider e-gear, though.

Call Grady or Roy; he will find you one and may get your 911 sold
PM me and I will give you Grady's number. (he can get you that white SE you posted for a steal)

Which brings up the next question. Most of the G's I see for sale are Egear, I want a true 6 speed manual but how hard will it be to sell. And why are there so many Egears?

On the other hand, when the time comes to sell it ... yes you will have less potential buyers, but those interested will want the stickshift real bad.

Maybe I'm building this up too much. Plus I live in the suburbs and I would only take it to the city about 5 times a month.
