Honestly, right now, nothing is holding it's value terribly well. All you have to do is look at wholesale prices. A year ago, a used 430 was still in the tens of thousands over MSRP. Now that's not nearly the case.

But all of this isn't worth discussing if what you said here is true. Which I think is good, I mean isn't the entire point of owning a car like that to enjoy it? I understand a lot of people are concerned with resale as I would be (maybe someday if I can get there) but ultimately you hit the nail on the head: it's about enjoying the car. And usually that's awfully hard to attach a price to.

I think the 560 and the R8 are both winners. If you want to step in the Lambo, I say do it. And get rid of the R8 now if you're going to sell because the market on them has slowed for obvious reasons but especially due to the upcoming V10.

Basically Im 20 years old, celebrating the big 21 in vegas next month.
i got my first car 2 years after my license (328 coupe). got the r8 when my family traveled more and more to europe.
we now are majority owners in a start-up website called youniversitytv.com.
Left college after my third year, wasn't happy with the american education, so since im a business major i shadow the ceo at our company.

sry there will be no pictures of an r8 next to a scud, because the scuderia is in geneva ( upsetting i know). I can do another set for you guys when I have time. r8 with 599, or slr or vanquish, or m6 you guys can pick.

at first when you said your first car was a 328 coupe i thought you meant a regular old bmw 328i and i thought to myself "oh ok, at least he got a semi-normal first car" but then i realized you mean a Ferrari 328.. haha

a picture of any of those cars with a sign that says "jox is gay" will satisfy our desires. i assure you we've all seen pictures of these cars so it's not another random shot we're after.

 

sell the R8, use that cash as a downpayment on the LP560 to finance it... pick up a slightly used car so you take less of a hit on depreciation and register it through montana LLC so you don't have to pay sales tax. (Montana LLC Vehicle Registration : Deer Creek Corporate Services).

Save money on LP? Check. Lower payment than lease? Check. "Equity" in car? Check. Avoid taxation issues with financing? Check.

Done and done!
