does turning off the psm on a 996tt completely disable the traction control or does it kick in at a much higher threshold?

 

Try it and see? If you have a EVOMS Stg 2 on it, I'm sure the thresholds were modified.....

It disables it completely, unless you touch the brakes. The idea is that if you're tail is waggling, and you hit the brakes, you got scared, and want the help. It can be a problem if you like to trail-brake with large slip angles, but you still get about 7 degrees of slip before intervention.

In any other driving situation, if it's off, it stays off, regardless of how sideways you get.
