A Porsche 911 Turbo seems that it would fit the bill. Not too extravagant, fast, everyday driveable.

They don't handle even remotely the same as an SL. Not that it doesn't HANDLE- it doesn't RIDE like the SL.

I vote for a CL mostly because I'm biased. It's bigger than the SL.

This is a good call surely? The XKR is epic fast, looks gorgeous and has a great ride.
