Spied: 2013 Mercedes-Benz A25 AMG testing at the Nürburgring

Mercedes hasn't been shy about discussing the A-class AMG, but we haven't seen much of the model – until now. Caught thinly camouflaged, the prototype is distinguished by high-performance brakes, AMG wheels and a sporty dual exhaust system. More interestingly, the car is being benchmarked against the Volkswagen Golf R so the company appears to be taking things pretty seriously.

Power will likely be provided by a turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol engine with 320 hp to 350 hp. It is expected to be paired to a dual-clutch transmission and all-wheel drive.

The official name is A45 AMG. 2.0L biturbo, 400nm, 335ps, AWD, 4.9s 0-100, 7 speed dual clutch. Best cornouring speed in the class!

 

A class was never sold stateside or anywhere in NA, but i remember when it came out in the mid 90's, i was going to school in Africa, they were just about everywhere!
