2013 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series Testing

Today our Teamspeed spies bring us another set of photos of the 2013 Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series during cold-weather testing. This is the same prototype we caught the other week sporting massive high-performance brakes and larger rear wheels which hint at some changes to the rear axle. The super-wide body kit gives us an idea of how much more aggressive this will be visually over the stock SLS.

Under the hood, rumors suggest the 6.3-litre V8 engine could deliver 600 hp and 677 Nm of torque. This will likely enable the car the new SLS variant to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.5 seconds and hit a top speed in excess of 322 km/h.

The German magazine Autobild reports that both a SLS AMG Black Series gullwing model and a roadster will be built, with both cars expected to be launched sometime in 2013, pricing is rumored to start at €260,000. Stay tuned for more updates soon!

Ah, if only... It would be amazing if Mercedes wen back to making manuals but by the looks of it manuals are dying off slowly. I hope this car gives the SLS a mroe "drivers car" feeling that a GT car.
