Congrats!
The pre-facelift R230 SL65's my all-time favourite car. I agree with Mo on the Kleeman advice.

The pre-facelift looks better I agree, it would look even perfect if you have the facelift rear done with the rear spoiler, tail lights and the rear bumper; I guess its the best of both worlds.

Happy miles with it! Enjoy.
Thank you F1 I really do love the interior as well, only way I would be able to handle having 3 of the same generation

This car will be staying at my house on the other side of the country for a few months. Still have to figure out what I'm going to do this side for until next year January The house is progessing so damn slow with all the rainfall we have been having. It's coming along none the less!

Congrats Mike, love the red guts.
Thank you Greg!

Thanks, great value - but at over $130,000 USD here pre-owned it's still not cheap what I would have liked

Mo, let me finalize my G55 first and then you can help me with this too

That may be the most skillful multi-quote post in TS history.

Picked it up Friday. Man I do miss being behind the wheel of this straight line monster. I don't know if the previous owner has had this car tuned. It feels faster than my old 65 did. Lights up tires when I'm not even trying to

Those are my all time favourite wheels, so classy and sporty. It's such a gentleman's car, cant really lose Black on red with the CF trim.

Just needs a CF SL63 rear bootlid spoiler and Kleemann power.

Another favourite thing about this car is the front bumper, it looks very masculine with the squared flares on the sides. This is also one of my favourite features of this car, its a sensational car and you cant lose with the 06 model.

You can get the facelift amg tail light, they make the car look more up-to date and fresher as the tinted part looks more "clearer". If you want more power ,I'll hook you up with my contact at Kleemann.

Thanks Mo! Mine too, I was actually thinking of putting another set of ADV's on there, but decided that the OEM was just too perfect for this car.

It's about 95% there, the paint needs a detail and one or two places on the interior. Shouldn't be too much work to get this car where I would like it.

This car was registered only in 08, so it has very few miles. I couldn't resist. Not many of these pop up for that year, especially when the local AMG market plummeted due to the recession.

Any info on how easy it is to update the tail lights? Sure, send me the fellow at Kleeman's details. I'd love to ask him some questions.

The tail light is an easy retrofit, from what I know its a plug and play. Keep the OEM wheels they are perfect, not a fan of the ADV they look very "heavy" on this car. If I was going to suggest you a wheel it would be the M40 HRE, however I think the oem wheels are just perfect; dont touch them.

PM on the way with the details.
