Hi guys,
What are the current limited edition series offered in the G55 platform?

The 79 is apparently limited to the Middle East region, but I have seen one while I was in Zurich. I'm sure the owner had to pull a couple strings, but it was done.

I don't think there are any 79's still available, so what is my next best option?

 

The one you saw in Zurich was probably purchased from the Middle East, I also saw a Edition 79 in London and Paris which I think were purchased from our region.

The current limited edition is the G55 Arabia, 100 made.

If you need anything at AMG tell me, I know a few people can make you the car to your spec.

Your options :

Either you buy a second hand Edition 79 from UAE or get a brand new G55 AMG Arabia if you can find one or a completely bespoke G55 from AMG performance studio or a normal G55.

 

You're probably right Mo. I just googled the Arabia and erm... gross!

I'm in the corner here, I want a limited edition as I'm not selling in future. My other problem is the car needs to be RHD or I can't drive it here. So I need to find one that hasn't gone into build yet. Whether AMG will build a RHD version of their limited editions is another challenge altogether.

Do you have any liaisons at the factory I could talk to and get more clarity? The dealers here are quite clueless about what you can or can't do with the G55 as they have only introduced the car as a standard model in the range available here.

I've never really bothered with the G55 but this particular car looks incredible. It's supporting new G.B registration plates and it has Brabus badges on the side as well as wheels, so I just wanted to know whether this model is stock, visually. Usually there is always a metal bar across the front?

 

The metal bar across the front is optional be it the full bull bar or the lower chrome bar as an attachment, the particular car you saw is a G55 with the brabus front bumper and the facelift G55 AMG grille. It looks tacky because its a mix and match with original AMG equipment and facelift/pre-facelift items with the brabus.

 

Oh ok thanks. I've seen G55's with the bar (gulf cars) etc... but because this one has the 60 in the reg plate, meaning that it's new, I thought it was a new model created by AMG with a bit of tuning done by Brabus but again thanks. I thought it looked pretty good. lol

 

It isn't new trust me, if it was new it would have the different AMG rims 19" instead of 18".

The GCC gulf cars most have non bull bar, its optional so its rare in the gulf with the bull bar.

Have you heard one in person, sounds close to an SLR.

 

No I've not heard stock ones apart from this one, also Brabus... This was really loud! Sorry for uploading these pics in the wrong thread...
