Thanks in advance. The reason I'm asking is that a ton of recent G Wagen's have their chassis swapped for of those of 80's cars because any car with a pre 1987 VIN is road tax exempt in Holland (which amounts to $4k+ annually for a car like the G400 CDI). Rocking a (crazy green) tax exempt G55 would definitely upset quite a few hippies here.

Yes, but you can't drive a car on foreign plates for more than 14 days without paying road tax.
