Love the write-up. That is the beauty of the G wagon, you either like it or you don't. Having driven a few G AMGs, I absolutely LOVE them. They are very quirky, I love the bank-vault feel when you close the doors. They don't provide the luxury of say, a range rover, but that is why I love them. They are unique, the torque/sound of that engine is amazing, and the way you feel driving them is incredible. I like them for the same reason I like my series 2 disco, they are a unique driving experience, and the boxy/edginess is so unconventional compared with modern styling. The color spectacular (and holy cow those are HUGE photos; my computer had an aneurysm loading them).

You've hit the nail on the head, bank vault feel when you close the door.

Such a badass car, congrats again!

So how's the driving experience when it comes to outright speed? Supposedly it's the fastest AMG to 30 MPH or there about.

Its quiet fast, I want 70-100 more horsepowers. Maybe in Spring or Summer Kleemann K1 (ecu upgrade, filters and pulley) +50 hp. It fast from 0-120kmh but it gets slower due to the aerodynamics.

I've raced a Bentley FS from 0-160( TS member MAK) I was 3/4 of a car ahead till 160kmh. I also raced a Camaro SS from 0-160kmh I was ahead by 2 car lengths.

That's nuts

Do you know whether the AMG has a chassis different (strengthened?) from the regular G's?

It is the same chassis W463, but I will ask my tech tomorrow (taking in the SLK55 for service) about the G55 tech questions.
