i have little experience as far as the 599 goes, i've never seen one in person so my opinion is somewhat biased, BUT i saw 2 sls' at a car show here in atlanta and it was instantly one of my favorite cars of all time, such presence and beauty, easily a better looking car than the ferrari, but i would suggest you let the test drives of each car be the determining factor in your decision

Wow. Tough decision. Along with the Boxster Spyder I'd say those two are the most beautiful cars on the market right now.
On one hand, I have seen about 10 SLS' over the past two weeks and only two 599's, so the SLS isn't exactly exclusive. But the Merc is a gentleman's car and there's always an aura surrounding Ferraris that you're not really that interested in the car itself, but more how you look in it. But sadly, I would have to go with the 599 because I will never for as long as I live forgive Mercedes for how they treated me over the years, but I'm sure it's a better car in every single way.
