FWIW, I just watched a video of the new Cayenne Turbo come within 1.2s of a 2011 C4S on a short track. Very impressive. I would boil my decision down to road = Cayenne, off-road = G-wagen. My buddy had a G55 and it was a bit much for day-to-day urban driving. I used to drive an armored one overseas, so I do appreciate the S-class level of amenities inside.
Ummm S-class amenties??? NO... I own a G55 and the interior is far more utilitarian than any modern day S-class i have been in.

G55 FTW. Your G will still be worth something 5 years down the road as the CTT will be selling for .30-.40 cents on the dollar once the new and updated one comes out.

The Cayenne is not to mistaken as your everyday SUV. This thing will go offroad and do it very very well. It was engineered from the beginning for that. You can even tell from the plastic design inside the oil pan. It has a block wall including extra extraction pumps for very steep grades. If they go that far, you know they went very far with the engineering.

^No matter how many years down the road, the G will still look like a box.

On a side note, damn the AMG G's sound crazy good.

I didn't say it was an S-Class, genius. But it is wall-to-wall leather, heated, multi-adjustable seats, etc. Finally, keep in mind, when the G-Wagen was last newly-designed that WAS the S-Class interior at the time.
Actually it has the c-class w203 components such as steering wheel, command screen, speedo etc the current face lifted one has sl speedo, e class 2008 command etc

Well then I stand corrected. My point was that the interior is very well-appointed for a truck. And I'd still take a Cayenne Turbo since ANY of them are depreciating assets.

I'd take a g class because I'm already on the cayenne route.

I had a 2010 g55 and an 09 cayenne turbo s. I miss the g55 I dont miss the cayenne. However while I miss the g55 because of the vault like feeling and overall character I did find the suspension a bit much for street driving. Even though it does not look or sounds as good I think the g550 is actually a better driver.

The New Cayenne Turbo is miles in front!

You need to spend 10 minutes behind the wheel and your mind will be made up.

It's all about what you want and need in a car, is it your only one? Does it really have to handle a racetrack in 1.1262362 seconds slower than a C4S or will it only see some highway miles to work every day and to your country cabin on the weekends? All I know is that the Cayenne is the far BETTER car of the two but I would choose the G55 because of it's aura and sound.
