Speccing my G55 next week, any out of the ordinary options I should know about?
#21
I have had a few G55's in the past, the spec as per the mfr list is good enough, only thing i have always added upon leaving the factory was the ART headlights conversion making the front looks better than the oem + getting a very strong long beam xenon.
Totally support Alkyoneus in that the G55 ride and handlling is acceptable only when you are the driver + quite a long list of other downside factors...

Is the ART aftermarket? Do you have a link for me?

well, let's see: 2nd world war jeep willis like wind screen wipers (with same efficiency)
C class dash and instruments, tiny windscreen/windows/glasshouse,the air pump/release seat bolsters mechanism - well i dig retro but this is primitive, narrow body hence small back bench - hardly accomodate 2 adults, tiny(short) back doors - makes for unpleasant getting in and out, noisy doors when under moving needs to be constantly tighten up - worse is the back gate, zero off road ability due to exhausts clearance...well i am bored already....

Its very durable mike but its a rough ride, much stiffer than the SLK55 i've got honestly. Just test drive one for a couple of days, drive it like you stole it and then order if you couldnt tolerate its ride stiffness then a change of plans.
