I used to use the wireless from my Time Capsule and had it extended with an Express. My signal was very weak and slow. I have since upgraded to a Netgear N900 router which seems to be better in terms of speed, but I still get a lot of drop off. I know there are a lot of networks in the area. Any idea how I can boost my signal?

 

Run the time capsule in N-only mode if your hardware supports it.

Also try placing it in a central location, ideally without any metal surfaces nearby.

Alternatively, you can look at other base stations with more radio power and options for external antennas. I use an EnGenius ECB3500 with an 11 db omni for my wireless security cameras-- that goes through (around) about a foot of concrete in one location.
