Confused about Apple TV
I use Apple TV often and buy TV shows and Movies...
Yet I can't view most of the shows I bought when I try to access via my Mac Book Air. I checked the settings in iTunes and I see that the Mac Book Air IS associated with my purchases.
Home sharing is on...and yet I get the message that I need to turn Home sharing on Apple TV..
I'm gonna try to restart the thing...

well restarted apple TV and got a message to update it...I did that...When i go to "Computers" there is a message at top of screen "to access your iTunes Library on Apple TV turn on Home Sharing in iTunes on your computer using (user name)..
I did that and it still doesn't work..restarted computer and apple tv and still not showing...
weird as this used to work...

fixed it....same damn problem their buggy airport expresses have...
have to plug directly into the router...unreal....*&#*@
Nice to see how many bugs there are in an Apple product for once....if I purchase something on apple TV it doesn't (easily) appear in iTunes...it's a mess.
but starting to work...sorta...

Apple TV just like Airport Express has it's bugs...
It's working better now that it's plugged into the router...but there are bugs in the system.

It's not a bug. The devices need to be on the same network to share. It was implemented that way due to contractual obligations to the labels and media providers.
iCloud gets around the issue (sort of) by giving local access to the files in question to whatever devices you have registered.

First off I was able to access and use my music and video from iTunes on my MBA from Apple TV.
Then it no longer worked....finally out of ideas, I plugged in an ethernet cable from Apple TV into my router and now I can share using 'home sharing;. It used to work wirelessly and now for whatever reason Apple TV seems to be needed to be plugged into the router..
Here's something odd...I bought the most recent episode of House via Apple TV..and it's not showing up in iTunes when I browse TV shows I have purchased..but when I go to the 'store' in iTunes and choose 'purchases; that episode of house is showing up and is available to watch.
I don't know why this is or when it changed.
I have to figure out iCloud and see what it can do for me...
