Upgrading from Tiger to Snow Leopard
I need to upgrade an intel iMac running tiger to the latest OS.
Why does it make me pay $369 for the " box set " which contains software I already have on another computer, and don't need on this one, instead of been able to just buy the OS upgrade, which is $60. I know the upgrade is if you are using Leopard, but still.
Is there a way around this?

The fact that you have the software on another computer is irrelevant-- it is licensed for THAT computer, not any others, unless you bought it with a family pack of licenses. In which case, you already have the installation media.
Yes, if the electronic equivalent of throwing bricks through windows is your cup of tea, you can steal it. Or, you can shell out a few bucks and buy the best OS made for what amounts to a comically low price.

The money I quoted is in my currency, you know, a currency outside the USA.
re: the software license on other computers, that's why I said I have it, and didn't need it on this computer.
thanks for the reply.
