I guess where I'm fuzzy is; if I own or buy stock, will I reap the rewards when VZW releases the iPhone 4? Thats what you want to know to Yon.

The mothership always reaps the spoils of its soldiers so I cannot see how VZ wont see change.

Almost certainly, they stand to eat a lot of AT&T's business, as well as sprint by proxy.

As well as the obvious AAPL goodness. Verizon opens a large market to them.

 

Verizon Communications owns Wireless. Yes, it's a subsidiary, but it will definitely reap the rewards. VZ has been trading very bullish, at more than 2X it's normal volume for the past month + based on the iPhone rumors alone.

By no means is it going to double when the iPhone is announced, but I certainly see it going up a few bucks. The point to buy VZ as a stock isn't for aggressive growth anyways... it pays 5% dividends, that's why you go into it. Long term, but it's just a plus to see that the stock has been running based off the rumors of this one phone.
