Can anyone help me price my MBP?
I am about to upgrade my MBP so I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out how much my old one is worth.
Specs:
15" Glossy
2.0GHz Core Duo
1.5GB RAM
80GB HD
128MB X1600 GPU
Leopard
Thanks.

Ah thanks. It comes with everything and is in great shape aside from a small dent near the magsafe port.

Take the price of whatever you originally paid for your Mac and cut that in half. That is a good starting point. And make sure that you deauthorize it when you sell it or that will be one less computer you will have authorized for your iTunes account (maximum of 5). GLWS.

No, it is not. It depends largely on the installed options in a given machine, its overall condition, and the overall age of the machine.

The reason I said "Take the price of whatever you originally paid for your Mac and cut that in half. That is a good starting point" is because to have a MBP with an 80 GB HD would mean that it is at least 3 years old, and most likely older than that, as are the options that he may have installed. You can pick up a brand-new MBP for very close to what you were suggesting he sell his for, with triple the specs he has on what he is selling, minus his installed options. No offense or slight to your Mac knowledge Simba, but anyone interested in an Apple computer with any prior knowledge would know that. I wasn't trying to get in a pissing contest, just trying to be realistic while offering my $0.02.... Either way, GLWS Dynamic.

2) 13" unibody MBPs for $1,200 do not equal slightly used 15" previous-generation MBPs. Go price a used one on PowerMax or eBay. If you find one for less than a grand, buy as many as you can find, as many people will be more than happy to take it off your hands for more than that. Macs tend to hold their value very well.
3) My comment has nothing to do with my "Mac knowledge" and everything to do with you posting inaccurate information.
