Post Facelifted 997 Bose Stereo Info

The 09' 997 has the power rating of the BOSE Amp @ 385W lifted from 325W . Both old and new systems have 7.1 channels and 13 speakers so it looks like the enhancement is limited to the Amp.

I don't know much about wattage, but is an extra 60W something you can notice?

A modest improvement nonetheless.

Any improvement on the stereo is a good improvement. Although I think the Bose is just fine!

Is it worth getting or is the standard stereo ok?

I have the Bose. But, as I understand it, the standard is pretty bad and the Bose is fair.

Thanks... I wonder why we can't get a decent stereo?

Standard stereo - Just say no...

My pre-owned 997S came with the standard stereo. Just say no. It's not very good at all. I strongly recommend going with the Bose.
In fact, I'm trying to figure out how to improve the quality of the system. I assume I'll go with some basic amp and upgraded speakers. I don't want to put any new holes in to my gal.
BTW, for all you pre-facelift 997 owners (that is, anything before 2009), I recently installed a MoBridge iPod and bluetooth unit. It's excellent. I highly recommend it (and no, I have no relationship with the MoBridge folks).
