991 Sound Symposer - Explained

I say stuff like that alot. Some people are worried about their car losing weight so much that they don't realize laying off the cheeseburgers is the best way to make your car go faster! And FWIW Haku, I used to stare at the pictures of your old GT3, it looked perfect in every way. Also, hope you are recovering well from the motorcycle accident, and I hope the 991 suits you well.
I REALLY miss that GT3... as much a pain as it was to keep clean. My intention is to keep the 991S until the 991 GTS/GT3 comes along then see.
Thankfully my recovery is going really well with little residual pain. I do have to watch it for a while longer. Its also a reason why I went for PDK and not a manual.
Here's another pic of that glorious GT3!

hi Haku,
your GT3 pictures here on TS are one of the best GT3 pictures ever! The one above is part of my top 5 GT3 pictures..from this angle the GT3 looks incredible..
If you didnt have your unfortunate accident you would probably still be a lucky GT3 owner...but I agree that in your situation the 991 would be more user friendly. And after all, there can still be things in life that are more important than a GT3...health is the most important thing.
All the best and show us some more of your photographing skills

Thank you for the kind words JH. I'm glad you enjoy the images.
The accident was a huge wake up call and I was very lucky to have survived and heal so well.
The GT3 remains a stunner and sure I will miss it but there will hopefully be others.

Wait until you see the new Porsche 9xx special limited edition introduced in spring of the year 2024. 150hp electric engine with sound symposer version 6.45! Enhancing sound by a whopping 13% over previous version 6.20! I can totally see this coming!! =))
Not saying the 991 is a bad car because of that symposer... it really sounds great, but someday we will have a full electric Porsche with full electric enhanced sound! =))

^^ I appreciate the humor, but I don't think all-electric motors are the future. They need to develop something on the lines of fuel-cell / electric-hybrid (not the Prius, more like the 918) / alternative-fuels - bio-ethanol - like Koenigseggs.
@ All
I've never seen a 991. I'd love to get my hands on one. But I strongly believe that the 991 is a step ahead - and most importantly in the right direction - of the 997.
The 997 does have plenty of charm, as does the 993 - even more so - the 964 and so on..
The 991 a few years down the line will have it's own charm too, not that it doesn't already - if I'm honest. I particularly like the 991 Cabrio in black (or white) with the red-top option.
You guys are nitpicking
I mean, 20-30kgs here and there isn't much really. Sure, it counts on the track but does it really rob you of the joy and excitement of owning and driving the car THAT much?
Awesome OP by the way. Learnt something new about the 991 and I'm glad it isn't like the new BMW M5.

Just by exterior and interior styling alone, side by side, IMO the 997 is worlds better. The exterior is much better proportioned, it's smaller, and yet the interior feels so much more spacious and airy than the 991. On this 991 it felt like it had a lot of cool styling features, but they were all put together kind of poorly. You can't really tell in pictures, but for me the 997 is a much better car in terms of design.
I would have agreed with you back in June this year. I hated the way the 991 looked initially. The longer wheelbase and a few other subtle design changes gave it a 'Cayman-ish' look. The rear bumper is pretty large and that gave it a very tail-heavy look. The 997 still does look better-proportioned.
But the 991 grew on me, in terms of design. I don't mind the 'evolutionary' step that Porsche has taken. Not that they care about my views anyway.

My favourite 911 would always be the 993 though.
I think we're going OT now.
SOrry!
