Now, the have gone from being a market leader to a somehow mediocre participant in the market. They are no longer the best - just drive the Mclaren and you´ll see. If someone now tells me that its good to become second in life and that Porsche should be proud of this then some peoople havent understood the basics of our 21st century world..

all the best,
Have you driven the said "mediocre participant" steering? No? Have you driven the McLaren? No?

Two times: YES
(PS: its not really difficult to get a test drive in the MP4-12)

Just look at the new video from Chris Harris here in teamspeed on the 981 and what he says about the 981 steering...or look at the Evo remarks..

Its tough to accept some realities - isnt it?

The boxster 981 is a great car - Im sure - I like it and will defintely be interested in one. In a 991 Im not interested..at least not for now..

From that I stand corrected. Being in the industry I find it irritating that so many people will have a absolute opinion without personally trying the product. You did, so your opinion holds water.

Leaving in two weeks to drive the 981 at the dealer launch. Looking forward to it.

Hi Brobbins,

Well - even if we all tested the relevant cars - we would still come up with different conclusions - but thats normal or more or less human. But there have been a few other people who noticed the same, Chris Harris etc..and these opinions count far more than mine.

Irritating is a bit that you dont want to acknowledge this..again..Im not talking about my opinion..Im referring to others..like Top gear, like Evo, like Chris Harris etc.

It depends what one is looking for..for some people comfort is more important than "sportscarfeeling"...etc.

Enjoy your ride,

Well - thats a valid point and certainly has a lot of thruth in it - but the real quesion is here: do we want Porsche to go the same way a BMW?

As for me - I have made up my mind already...Porsche should stay unique!

Chris Harris said it best. The technology is here to stay. So deal with it; or don't.

By buying older, but arguably better cars.

Harris hit the nail on the head. Any initial drives of displeasure are USUALLY due to not being able to push the car. It's a winner and a SUPERIOR winner at that. And like I always say, GUESS WHAT!?!?, you can go buy a pre-owned 997 and relive that magic all over again.
