Teamspeed IAA 2011: Porsche Shows the New 911
#46
The base car and "S" look to be huge improvements on the 997 (assuming electric steering didn't screw them up)...
The real negative here is the death of the Metzger engine. Seeing that GT3 RS 4.0 and knowing that the next GT3 cars won't have it actually makes me sad. I'm finally at a point in my life where I can afford a new 911 and have dreamed of picking one up at the Stuttgart factory most of my life, but while I'm sure the 991 GT3 will look amazing -- I can't see myself dropping that much money on the 9a1.

The funny thing is, this is the RS 4.0's world debut! Nobody seems to care though in the shadow of the 991. But it makes sense to debut the last hurrah of the 997 along with the first 991.

Something tells me that if they started them both up, all eyes (and ears) would gravitate to the 4.0...
