I don't mean to get carried away but that particular part of the 991 kinda reminds me of the McLaren F1. I like it!
I agree. Base Carrera versions look tame compared to an RS. If there was a standard carerra behind, this car does look better. Wait until the 991 GT3RS is out with revised intakes and lower stance along wth ts already lowered nose. It will look sick.

Here are two comparisons I made between the 997 and 991.

Great comparison shots. You can really see the different slope in the windshield, the greater length between the door and rear wheel as well as the longer/higher rear engine decklid.

You can also make out the more vertical line of the rear bumper. It has a rather sharp drop as opposed to the 'rounded' shape from the side view.

Agreed.

Will want to see what they do with the Turbo/GT2/3/RS.

Nice comparison. Notice the increase in size compared to the 993 and 996:

993-996-997-991 in inches:

Wheelbase:89.4-92.5-92.7-96.5
Length:167.8-174.8-175.6-177.9
Height:51.8-51.6-51.2-49.9

So the trend again for the 911 is longer and shorter.

Something about the rear bumper is still not sitting right with me though...

I think it's pretty ingenious how they're concealing the lights. Definatley screws with your eyes and the camera lens.
