Need transmission advice WTB: 997

hey guys, i have this question on my mind for quite some time now. i'm looking to purchase a pre-owned 997 model 911 cabriolet, probably around september-december when i move to another house with a bigger garage, i was originally intend to go with the automatic with tiptronic or whatever the automatic uses. however my search for a 911 cab with auto tran has not been so great. and often time i come across manual with the same options for less! now i never drove an manual before, however i understand the concept of stick driving (dump the clutch, shift to the next gear, release clutch, repeat. etc etc) but everyone kept telling me how that could be a bit of headache consider i travel towards new york city from the surburban area. and i know first hand just how bad the traffic jam gets around here.

i also have another question, if i do end up finding a auto, is it possible for me to switch out the steering wheel, from that awkward pressing down to the paddle shifters like the e92 m3?

much appreciated for any advice anyone can give me.

If you are an enthusiast, there is really only one choice - Six Speed Manual.

i dont mind having a manual, but the states of nyc traffic jam could be really annoying consider how many times i have to use the clutch.

Porsches are not made to be sitting in traffic jams all the time.
