I am so close to trade my 2011 cayenne S for a new black edition carrera. I was about to tell the dealer to start preparing the new car when i put a stop in my head.
Idrive both of my boys to day care everyday. they are 1 and 3 and the distance is about 8 miles. Then I spent the rest of the day on my own before picking them up on the way home. i sold my 06 carrera when the first child was born and have enjoyed the cayenne GTS and now the CS greatly. but i have been dying to get back the carrera and was thinking about getting a used one as a weekend care. but i found out today that they will take my 8 months old CS for almost what i paid for as trade in, which i thought i would just make the trade rather than an extra car.
Am I crazy to think i can handle the two kids in a carrera? forget about weekends which we can always take my wife's car. but just weekdays putting the kids in and out twice a day?? am i crazy?? also appreciate any recommendation on convertible car seat for this purpose. thanks.

i don't think you know me or my wife so i wouldn't place much value on your response. my wife can stay home or go to work despite a new carrera or two. my kids would do just as well in an excellent over priced day care while my wife saves lives each day.
it's doable, but for me, that's a PIA. car seats and 2 door cars don't work. i would also be wary of the safety issue. once in awhile would be cool, but i don't know if i'd be comfortable with two littles ones in the back of a 911 everyday.
I looked into this, because when my second one is front facing we are getting back into a Turbo or GT2/3.
The answer is yes. Specifically, I have tested it with the Sunshine kidz radian (the narrowest model), and they work fine.
Getting the seats in intially is a pain in the behind because you have to use the belt to secure the seat, the cars I tested in did not have LATCH, but with the belt and the supplied clip from the car seat, they work fine.
And if your kids are older and don't need car seats, even better.
Oh, and take the bottom cushion off if you are installing car seats, you don't need them, and that gives you more headroom.

It takes some dedication and nimbleness, but it's definitely doable. I do this with my son in the E30 right now.Originally Posted by Mr Kram

For the Turbo, when I tested it, I get out, move the seat forward, lift and push the seat back forward, and there's ample room to get the kid in and out.
Of course, it helps when your kids are a little older and can get into and out of the seats themselves and just need you to buckle them in.

Can't, front facing only. The OP is talking front facing.Originally Posted by Mr Kram
dude, how can you fit a rear facing seat behind you? For that, sunshine kidz works perfect.
EDIT, I am ASSuming that the 1 year old is as big as my son when he was 1. He could not stay rear facing much past 1 because he was too tall and his legs could not sit straight rear facing, which meant if he decided to lock his knees and we got rear ended, bye bye knees.
