Sport headers, exhausts & tuning for '09 C4S
#11
This is my 06' Carrera S..sounds good to me. I have never driven it without the exhaust so I don't know what it was like before but it pulls very well through all levels IMO....and it sounds great in underpasses/tunnels. First video is coldstart and after warmup...approximately 10 mins..then underpass in car.

Headers and exhaust are a good upgrade for the gen 2 cars. With the software and airbox you will pick up a little power and the throttle response will be much improved. You can also add the IPD intake plenum for the DFI car. I installed one last month on a stock car, no other mods, and it was noticeably quicker.

I can certainly chime in, as I have a 997.2 C4S, 2009
First I put the Sharkwerks bypass pipe -- Didn't notice any gains in power (although feeling 10HP is impossible !), sound also too subtle
Then I went for the full TUBI exhaust system (it includes a bypass pipe like Sharkwerks) -- I have been told and read everywhere, that side exhausts almost do not produce any gains, the power comes from the bypass pipe. I guess I had 12HP or so more compared to stock
I sold this and got the FVD Stage 3 system: headers + 200 CPSI cats + bypass pipe + side exhausts + BMC air filters + ECU tuning -- Claimed to produce 423HP, TECHART and SPEEDART have identical systems and they claim 420HP -- Sure now the car feels more powerful compared to TUBI, 100% sure about this - Cost around $ 8K, but I am on par now with 997.1 GT3 and very close to 997.2 GT3

Agree, 997,
Fabspeed seems to be the best overall choice, all things considered and I am leaning that way for the Exhaust solution.
Performance/chip tuning is as of yet, undecided.
Thanks!
