Yup, vanes over the engine look adjustable!



Apparently, the new headlight design is supposed to be 'unexpected, surprising, and aggressive.' That's coming from a Rennteam member who knows a guy at Weissach.

 

Someone should change the name of this thread to something like the 991 info thread, and then sticky it.

According to a source the car is coming to Frankfurt in September, and the Cabriolet models will follow 6 months afterwards, but I'm not so sure about that. There is also a rumor that the S models will now receive the wide body treatment. If you love manual, don't worry, it will still be standard (as well as an optional PDK.2), but it is unknown as of now if the GT3, GT3 RS, GT2, and Turbo will be offered with manual transmissions. My guess is standard manual for the GT3, GT3 RS, and GT2 with optional PDK.2, and standard PDK.2 for the Turbo.

Judging on what people are saying, the wheelbase has been slightly stretched for a reason. The reason is unknown, but people who know something we don't know about the 991 say the chassis is incredible. So astonishing that the 991 Carrera S is about as fast as a 997 GT3.

I just hope the 991 isn't watered down with a whole bunch of luxury features. I hope they will just become options.

rear wheels look much closer to the back than they did on the 997

 

The rear overhang is actually longer on the 991. The 991 will be stretched though, and will stand shorter. It will weigh 110lbs less than the 997. Regarding the comments to the stretched wheelbase, the wheelbase on the 991 will be equal to the 914's wheelbase.

Oh, and good news. There is no standard Targa roof. It's optional.
