Extended Warranty question
#1
Hello all
New to the forum and did a quick search on this and didn't see much written about it.
I have a 2006 997 S and absolutely love the car. After years of lusting after a 911 I bought it last year in June and the factory warranty expires next month. I've had nothing but good things to say about the work done by the Porsche dealer here..I did not buy the car from them. Had them go through the car last week and completely check it over before the warranty expires. They found a few things over the last year that they fixed including a hard starting problem. I've had a few friends suggest I get the extended warranty from Porsche since I intend to keep it for a while.
Any thoughts from anyone on this would be appreciated including any known probs with the 2006. About the only major issue I have heard that is expensive would be intermediate shaft failure ...or RMS problems.
Thanks
TonyC

you have a few choices:
A) get the car Certified. this would entail a thorough inspection and you'd have to pay for all the necessary work to get it up to Porsche CPO spec. I believe you then get a warranty up to 100k miles
B) buy a third party warranty and choose the mileage and coverage you need.
