My Cayman S is now 4 years old and I don’t plan to get rid of her anytime soon. I have 24,900 miles on the car and my warranty expires in two weeks.

I spoke with the leasing group at Momentum Porsche in Houston Friday and they said if I purchase an extended warranty before 25,000 miles and before my warranty expires, this will save me over $1,000 on the warranty.

They said they would sell me an additional 4 years and up to 75,000 warranty with a $250 deductable for $2,800. They would also cover the cost of a “mandatory” 120-point inspection.

Finally, they require an oil change prior to the warranty going into effect. I just did my 20,000 mile service recently and a Porsche oil change is not cheap.

Is this a good deal? I have a meeting with the warranty person at Momentum at 5pm today to discuss further.

 

Usually its around $2,000-$2,500 for a certification. Try to get them down some more. Is this a factory extended warranty they are offering you?

 

The warranty is offered by a third-party but they say it is supposed to be the equivalent of the Porsche factory warranty.

 

Nothing is equivalent to the Porsche CPO warrany; the Porsche CPO is a mirror reflection of the new car warranty.
