Traction control!!

Yesterday i was driving my car, SPORT PLUS was ON, PSM was OFF.. i entered a turned a bit hard and i was suprised that the traction kicked in!!

I thought if you press the SPORT PLUS button and switch OFF traction, then there wont be any traction at all!! need a bit of feed back on this guys..

Oh and one other thing, when looking at the video which illustrates the launch control with the PDK, the driver did not switch of traction, he only pressed sport plus, and shift into manual mode.. do i have to press the traction off button, or does it automatically disengages while having SPORT PLUS ON?!

I have a 2008 so off is OFF
But it Porsche set it up like BMW you will need to push the PSM button and hold it for a few seconds to turn it fully off
Give it a try...

I remember reading about this when the 996TT came out (a while ago then), and they mentioned that even when the PSM was off, if you touched the brakes, the car assumed you were in trouble and put the PSM back on.

Not true. But you can never turn PSM all the way off. Even if it is off, in an extreme slide it will kick in.

Gotta love this computer bull $@%#

It disgusts me to think that you have to get a gt3 or gt2 to enjoy a streight up limited slip differential.

I've been told that PSM electronically senses when one of the wheels is sleeping and slightly applies brake pressure to the spinning wheel to get the power to the ground. Or atleast make it seem like a limited slip dif...I just think thats wrong.

Unplug the brain! Let ME drive!!! damnit.

not that i care right now i only have a miata, but if I was you guys Id be pissed and sending emails to porsche everyday until they get rid of this overlord system with no real LSD

Would you be compelled to throw a drum kit in the dealership you bought it from?
