I got $82K in trade from my dealer last fall for my 04 996 TT Cab. This car was 4 years old, had a higher production than the 997 and listed for quite a bit less than my 997 TT Cab. Most of the 997 TT cabs with reasonable options list for at least $150K. Even with a first year depreciation of $20K your math does not work. I think your speculative numbers are WAY off base (IMO).

I was really hoping to get into a 997 TT for 70k in a year when my warranty runs out, looks like its impossible.

Yep, looks like a used M6 is more reasonable.

a well equiped tt cab was at least $150k, there's NO WAY in 1 1/2 year it would drop its values to high 60s. and low 70s.

Didn't 996 Turbo Cabs just fall that low recently?

Yeah, not even close. I just got $70k from the dealer for my 2 yr old 2005 997 S cab w/12k miles- sticker $100k. And that was what the dealer paid/close to wholesale, a retail buyer would have to pay at least $75k to buy the car.

Even a stripped 997 TT Cab w/ just Sport Chrono & heated seats wont be anything less than $115-120k retail in 1.5 yrs. 5-12k miles a yr. And most TT cab's are way above the $136.5k starting sticker. Most "fairly nice equipped car"s come in around $155k meaning you're going to pay approx. $130k. And cars like my 997 TT Cab which had a sticker of $171k would cost even more than that.

$60K-70k? Figure on almost Double that.

I agree with everything that's been stated...it's fun to think about new purchases, but to speculate on the value 1.5 years out is just stupid.
