Lucky for this guy there was not a car in the opposite direction.
A good explanation is this from Silverbillet on Rteam..
"I believe that was 'power oversteer' which occurs beause too much torque goes to the rear wheels causing them to spin, losing rear wheel traction and causing a greater slip angle at the rear wheels. The proper correction is to come off the gas.
This is different from 'throttle lift oversteer' which occurs because weight is transferred to the front wheels off of the real wheels, leading to rear wheel traction loss and a greater slip angle at the rear wheels. 911's are infamous for this, but that doesn't mean they aren't also prone to power oversteer, especially with all that torque from the 911 Turbo."
