2011 Porsche 911 Turbo S Vs 2012 Nissan GT-R

Nothing wrong with buying a GTR...it's just not what many people like myself would choose if they have a choice.
When I need a suit I have the choice of going to a discount outlet or an Armani or Ferragamo store. They are both suits and even if I say so myself I would probably look good in either one of them.
As long as I am able to, I choose to go to the Armani or Ferragamo store and buy the real thing for the same reasons I go to the Ferrari or Porsche dealer instead of the Nissan dealer when I want a hot car. The look, the feel, the material, the fit and finish, the before and after service, the overall experience and the knowledge that I bought the top of the line instead of compromising.

Great vid!
As a owner of a 997 Turbo S, I only have respect for the GTR. I've only had one opportunity to take the GTR on the track (Autobahn North) and I was impressed at how capable the GTR was...certainly more capable than this driver.
I recognize I'm biased, but driving my Turbo S is a totally different and more complete experience from the fit/finish to the remarkable unflappable nature of the car. It just felt more effortless to go fast on the track even though both cars are slighty piggish compared to a true track instrument like a GT3.

The new 2011 530PS Datsun GTR is a very special bit of kit.
A lot of the derogatory comments say more about the posters than anything about the cars. Every petrolhead should desire a GTR, those that don't are mostly aspirational Posers.
The GTR is beautifully made and if it had a different badge with this level of tech could easily be a £150K car.
The only things I don't like are the gearbox, would prefer manual but realize that this is part of its heavy weaponary and because it is so heavy the springing is quite firm, a little too firm (even in soft mode) for daily cruising.
This new model has a Cd of 0.26 AND 150kg of downforce front and 55kg at the back at 250kph !!!! it has 390mm front brakes, Rays wheels, a much improved interior, alledgedley does 0-60mph in 2.9s.

Heritage is not hight price... Nobody say LF-A is a just a Toyota.... And LF-A (a great car, of course) is not so fast..... Porsche's history started with more affordable and faster cars (not with 1.000.000.0000th limited editions for chrome mirrors). Man...you don't love your car only because you can show your money.... I had gt3 rs and GTR '09.
I drove a turbo several times.... and If you like understeer is the car for you.. GTR is more like a GT3... is more determinated.. more firm.. simply more.
and GTR '12 with 530hp is noticeably FASTER.
