Just because Porsche was out testing a 911 Turbo sans wing doesn't indicate - one way or another - whether the production version will have a whale tale. ALL it provies is Porsche was attempting to disguise the 991 Turbo as a standard 911. They've already pasted fake scoops on the rear-fenders of 2012 Carrera test mules, so they were probably hoping noone would notice that the intake scoops on this care are functional.

I think they should ditch it, Ferrari has done wonders without one. No need to fulfill convention.

Those edge-of-the-door slit intakes look pretty mean, I hope they make it into the final version!

I would gladly trade away the spoiler for fatter fenders.
