I'm planning on getting a manual B5 A4 or a 944 soon. Probably not a 944 though because of mantinence costs.

I'll take you up on the wager as well. Might not be your first car but you said forever.

I like manual. 2 of the 4 cars I've bought were manual (did not even come with auto option, I love that, S2000) and my current truck is a manual but it was given to me. But that does not mean that sometimes a car or lifestyle just makes more sense without an auto/PDK-type transmission. It's fun moving back and forth. You always miss the other one.

The vids I have of PDK cars look like one of the most boring experiences on earth. Too smooth, too quiet, TOTAL lack of driver involvement.

"Oh look, we are going 100 mph. How neat. Wake me when we hit 150."

A B5 A4 will have plenty of maintenance costs as well, but yeah, stay away from the 944.

Owning a manual first car and never owning anything else for life are two very different things.

I can't belive you drive a turbo in Lebanon!! I drove a Honda crv over there and felt bad for it, leave the crazy elevations and the awful roads; the labanese have invented an alien form of driving, Its NUTTS!! Changing your underwear on a 2 mile trip to the cold store ain't uncommon,
If it was me id get an average Japanese car to avoid attention, a Range if I really had to roll in style, but congrats regardless, enjoy it and the hotties at Aub

I know that an Audi is a much much different thing than a Carrera GT, but this just looks like so much more fun than letting the car do it for you!

YouTube - Porsche Carrera GT Heel-toeing

This is probably to 100th argument about PDK vs. manual, so lets end it here. We all prefer different things for different purposes. Though the fact is manual is better.
