Only for turbocharged cars. It is always a good idea to let the turbos cool down for about 2 minutes after a spirited drive. Even recommended by Porsche...

At a minimum, if I have been driving relatively gently (off boost), ill let the car idle for 1 minute. If Ive been driving hard, 2 minutes. Never more than 3 minutes though.

No PDK war - I agree w/Dan that in the long run, a manual is the only choice for enthusiasts. I knew I wouldn't keep this C4S forever, so PDK was a worthwhile "risk". I'm not disappointed in the car/transmission, only in my choice not to get a manual.

I have the Porsche Short shift kit (ssk) and it's worth every penny. To me part of driving a manual in rush hour traffic is part of the expereince of driving a manaul 6spd which I deeply enjoy. No complaints here. Porsche has always been about the 6speed!

Do you daily drive your turbo Chris?

When it's not snowing or raining

But yes I will daily drive it in the summer. I previously had an E46 M3 in 6-speed as well which I daily drove. But since this is a P-Car I might not drive as much as I use to.

Did you get yours spec'd with this? I've read that on colder days ssk is hard to get into 1st and you have to almost start it in 2nd, have you experienced that?

I added it at the dealer on delivery once I sat and tried it out in a GT3RS that includes the SSK.

Yes, during colder days it is initially more diffcult to shift into first gear. But its really not bad at all unless you're a girlie man then you may have some difficulties.

This is directly from Porsche about the SSK:

"Reduces shift travel by 25% for highly efficient shifting. Only available on customer-specified orders. Note: Only in conjunction with manual transmission. Increased shifting effort when cold."
