New guy from Colorado
Hello all, hope this is the right spot for this. Found this site through Facebook someway and here I am.
I'm looking at picking up a turbo here in the near future. I've test drove an 07 already and had an absolute blast. I've been going back and forth now on finding a good used one or spec'ing one out, to include a possible S.
Although I know the PDK is amazingly fast to shift I'm wondering if I'll crave the 6spd. A 6spd on cars like this seem only natural to me. So something I will have think about it. Also I would like to put some sort of increased hp kit on the car too and I've read the PDK's are a little limited on that?
Anyways, just wanted to introduce myself and plan on learning a lot from all you veterans.

Welcome to Teamspeed, Dave!
Here's my take on PDK - it's fun for a while, very handy if you have a rough commute, and extremely fast if you want the best possible track times. That said, I am bored with PDK in my C4S (I almost went Turbo, but it was just too much power for where I live - I'd never get out of 2nd gear). Porsche makes excellent manual transmissions. Test drive them both, but consider the how/where you'll drive it. If you have a wicked commute or do a lot of track driving, then the PDK might be good. Otherwise, I'd stick to the manual. Best of luck!

I have a 6spd TT. Personally I will almost never track the car so PDK for me is useless. Plus if I were to use the paddles while driving in the city I would feel like a poser. I would just leave it in auto, but then I might as well buy a Panamera.
I have the Porsche Short shift kit (ssk) and it's worth every penny. To me part of driving a manual in rush hour traffic is part of the expereince of driving a manaul 6spd which I deeply enjoy. No complaints here. Porsche has always been about the 6speed!
Happy Holidays!

Welcome to the TEAM Dave, nice to hear our fbook page is bringing some good new members on board!
My take in short is I'd still want a 911 with a manual trans till at least the next generation, for the Fcars I am all for F1.

Welcome!
If it is to be your weekend/occasion only car, it can only be a six speed.
On the other hand, if it is you daily driver and/or your only car, it can only be a six speed.
So basically, six speed it is! You wont regret it.
