2 pad change and PCCB rotors must be replaced?

If driven aggressively or some track duty they ALL recommend changing out the pads once they hit 50% wear.
Many of the guys who say PCCB's can't be tracked (especially early on like Gen.1) did not know this.
I changed mine out at 50% and the rotors are perfect. my question was that I read porsche says only 2 pad changes can be done and then the rotors must be changed. That's hard to believe if the rotors are still good.

Chris, talk to any of the pros that actually race like TPC, GMG, the guys from the former Farnbacher-Loles etc. and they will tell you the fastest way to damaging PCCB rotors is to let the pads get worn down.

Chris- I just spoke to our Regional Service/Parts guy and he is unaware of any recommendation to replace the Rotors after 2 change outs of pads. He did say you should change the pads to either the intermediate or 'track only' pads if you plan on tracking the car. But went on to say that as long as you're changing out the pads so early the Rotors should be good to go for a very long time.

I've had quite a bit of experience with PCCB.
I had them on a 996 Turbo cab, had the car for 4 years, and 45k miles, when I sold it, it was still on the original pads, and the rotors looked brand new. I reckon 2 sets of pads would have seen the car well over 100k miles, But the car was never taken on track, so maybe that's what Porsche are referring to.
I've just had to replace the rotors on my 997 GT3 RS to aftermarket steels.
The rotors lasted somewhere in the region of 30+ track days, and around 50 laps of the ring.
I actually feel this is quite a good life span, but I feel it was specifically helped by the fact that I changed the pads when down to about 50%, and never any more. I feel this helped with heat sync on the rotors.
The reason I changed them was not due to surface delimitation, and rather that they were getting down to their minimum thickness, as stated on the disc, so I took them off, but will put them back on come resale time, as they would be absolutely fine for road use for a long time to come.
FYI, I ran pagid RS29 pads on them, and must have used around 7-8 sets of them.
I now have PCCB on my 997 Turbo S cab, and fully expect the rotors and pads to last the full time I have the car.

You determine when to replace the rotor by measuring it's minimum thickness, not how many pads you've gone through, particularly if you're replacing pads when they're half worn.
You'd have to burn through a LOT of pads to make up for the $8k premium PCCBs run. I hate salespeople.
