2 pad change and PCCB rotors must be replaced?

just read somewhere that PCCB's rotors are only good for 2 pad changes and rotors must be replaced, regardless? Is this Porsche's stance?

I have about 45K miles on mine and changed out the pads about 10K miles ago when the pads got to 50%.

Mine had close to 40K and some were spent on the track.

They look brand new when I got rid if the GT2.

I thought the whole purpose of PCCB's was that they essentially never fade? I've heard so many dealers try and sell them saying you'll ultimately "save the money in the long run" rather than having to pay for pad changes (which only works if you're changing pads all the time from running on the track).

why did you change the pads at 50%?

if you got 50% left after 35k miles, after 2 pad changes, the rotor would have covered over 120k miles easily. i think you got good use of the rotors then.

Chris why did you change pad's so quick? We were told the Rotors will last 200k with normal use.

Rotors are expensive.

Mine saw track duty at the fast group in places like the Sears Point, and after almost 40K miles, they look basically brand new.

Did the OP take the wheel off and look at the rotor?

Oh, and for PCCB you are supposed to use factory pads specifically for the PCCB only. Using regular pads will destroy them.

My Turbo was iron, the GT2 had the PCCB.

The pedal feel of the PCCB was phenomenal, just awesome, compares to the iron rotor on the Turbo.

Everything will fade, it's just a question of how soon. If you can manage a fast group run at the track you are generally very smooth on the inputs, and I would be really surprised if they didn't last.

How much did it cost to POP for the replacements?

Still going with iron unless I get a used car with them already on it.

My indie says no. Change out the pads if u need to. If the rotors are ok then leave them on.
