Road Trip-The Berkshires

So I took the turbo and the girl up to Lenox, MA for the weekend. This was the first real roadtrip that I took my .1 Turbo. Picked up the girl in the city thurs afternoon and headed up the Taconic State Parkway. Fun road with a lot of twists and turns. It was a clear and brisk day. Car stuck to the road. About two hours into my trip I had a chance to meet the local State Police. Apparently I was doing 80mph in a 65mph zone. I think he pulled me over more because of the car then the speed but I talked my way out of the speeding ticket and received only a tinted window ticket. He did mention that he could have written me for the no front plate but I am determined to never drill into my front bumper! The car was fantastic all weekend. On the way back to NY I took the Merritt Parkway through Connecticut. Another very fun road to drive these cars. I was at a dead stop waiting to merge onto the Parkway and that is when I got to really experience how fast my car really is. Literally nailed it through the gears and before I could even look down I was over 110mph. All in all it was an amazing weekend with the turbo.

Few side notes and observations;

1. With the leaves falling my front air vents are getting filled up with leaves. I saw someone on the site who installed a custom mesh grill behind the vents. I think that is my next mod.

2. On my way through Manhattan and on my way out of Manhattan, I realized how crappy the NYC roads. My car is lowered (K&R Coilovers) but you literally need to slow down and practically stop to avoid bottoming out.

Nice trip. Have you considered using the tow hook plate. No holes required.

Pics would be nice too.

I have the tow hook plate! Great product. I left it in my garage before I left but it definitely is the answer!

I love road trips! Great report. You're lucky the cop let you go - don't hear much of that these days.

And yes, the roads are brutal. Northport, huh? We're almost neighbors - I'm in Smithtown.

That probably was my car you saw with the mesh grille. I'm not so sure it's a great mod anymore. Leaves don't get through but everything else does...I've got a bunch of other things behind the mesh and I can't get to them! Not even with a vacuum.

And...no pictures? C'mon Brian...you can do better than that!
