What is the best way to launch a manual 6-speed 997TT?

So I have my 997.2 TT 6-speed coming in. Since I don't have PDK w/ launch control what is the best way to launch a manual 997TT tranny for quickest times?

Pop the clutch? Let it slip??

Thanks!

First off, kudos to you for getting a 6spd .2!
Second, this article is referring to N/A P-cars, but idea is the same. Probably the only thing out of C/D I've read in the last 5 years.

How to: Launch a 2009 Porsche 911 Carrera S Manual and PDK - Feature - Auto Reviews - Car and Driver

I haven't tried to launch my TT yet, as I'm a big chicken and don't want to fry my clutch.

Bonehead,

Thanks for the link. I appreciate the help.

In that article it seems to only apply to the rear wheel drive Carrara S only. I would think that with the all wheel drive system on the turbo as well as the quick turbo boost we would have to use a different technique? Perhaps different rpms before releasing the cluth?

I was under the impression its also very easy for the turbo to bogg if you don't launch it correctly due to the all wheel drive system.

I'm a newb with all wheel drives so please bare with me.

PSM off, Rev to 3000rpm, let off clutch as you hammer the throtle. Fine spot between dumping and slipping it. Get a Pbox and check your 60ft, you will see your progress every time. Your clutch will not fry unless you have sticky tires or upgrade power. My old clutch at stock level never fried no matter how I abused my Pcar.

How do you launch a 997.1tt with tiptronic? I'm guessing it's pretty similar to PDK?
