991 7-Speed Manual Not Until June '12?

Any truth to this? That's what my dealer told me today....
"7 speed manual transmission cars will only be produced from late May and delivery in the US from June."
I was leaning towards a manual...Now I just don't know....arghhhh!

Don't do PDK just to get an early car... if you really want a 991, wait for the manual.

That's too bad if it's true. I can understand the reasoning for PDK-only for EARLY deliveries, but to have a 6-month delay for the 7spd is a little much. I assume launch cars are PDK, so Porsche is managing the initial supplier/manufacturing process to ensure a smooth launch, but the manual shouldn't take so long for intro.

If you want a stick, wait for it. Or purchase a Launch car and then trade for one that you personally spec later in the year.

Isn't that true in any sales business: the sales team is the last to know when a product is/isn't available???

I guess that supports the mentality "Sell what you have now"

Good luck finding something...inquiring minds want to know

They do that b/c they assume most of the dealers are idiots and can't help themselves to blurt out "BUT MANUAL ISN'T AVAILABLE UNTIL X, Y AND Z!"

to a certain extent, they're right. Lots of horrible sales professionals out there. LOL

I only ask b/c I could have sworn you had 'Strategic Partner' next to your avatar at one point?
